Who is behind Aspen Hill Marketing & Communications?

I'm an experienced communications professional with a strong background in journalism, marketing and public relations.

Like many ag communicators, I’m just a farm kid. I grew up in northern Wisconsin where my parents ran a successful dairy farm. Later, I majored in journalism with an emphasis in public relations. Upon graduation, I started working for a small daily newspaper in Minnesota. Turns out I was the only farm kid on staff and - because I knew the difference between a turkey and a chicken - I became the ag reporter!

After working in the newspaper industry for several years, I eventually moved on to work for a dairy cooperative doing internal communications and later an agricultural trade magazine as the editor.

As my career grew, so did my opportunities - this time in Washington, D.C. Working for the U.S. Grains Council, I traveled around the world helping farmers in other countries become successful - just like my family farm back home.

Since then, I’ve branched out and worked at different marketing agencies, always focusing on agriculture.

I've garnered expertise in writing about many areas of agriculture including crop production; dairy genetics, production and pharmaceuticals; international grain trade; local and national grain and feed production; pesticides and herbicides; and many more ag-related topics.

Now that I’ve shared my story, let me help you tell yours!
