A bit about the writer . . . Cheri grew up on a dairy farm in northern Wisconsin and has been involved in ag communications since working at a daily newspaper in southern Minnesota. Would you believe they thought it was odd that she knew the difference between a chicken and a turkey? That ability landed her the responsibility of developing weekly ag pages, and from there, she’s taken her passion for writing and agriculture around the world.
On Cheri’s LinkedIn profile, you'll see that she has worked as a newspaper reporter and on the client side for a dairy cooperative, an international non-profit, and a global bovine genetics company. She also worked on the agency side for firms in Minneapolis and Kansas City, which allowed her to cover everything from crop protection to bovine pharmaceuticals - and everything in between.
Fast forward to today, Cheri lives just north of Madison, Wis., where she runs Aspen Hill Marketing & Communications. As a consultant, Cheri works on a variety of projects including crisis communications, day-to-day writing, and spearheading and writing grant applications for a meat processor. Additionally, much of the work that she has done in the past few years is proprietary as she assisted in the development of several white papers for Fortune 500 companies to help staff determine the company policies for animal welfare specific to Proposition 12.
